Something I have learned in my 37 years of life is that you can really learn a lot from other people. If you will take time to listen and watch, you can really be empowered by others in your same situation....mother...etc. So, this is my delimma, and certainly not a new one, but I am finally wondering what other mothers do to control this. My kids seem to want to go from the TV, to the computer, to the WII, and at a last resort if I have banned everything else, their gameboys!! Sometimes I just wonder how much is too much?? and can't they possibly entertain themselves with anything that doesn't require a screen??
Does anyone else struggle with this? I am looking for feedback of what works for your kids at your house. Maybe it's ok to let them sit for endless hours in front of these things, maybe I'm being a little too freaked out? Banning them in my house isn't something I want to do, so I guess I am choosing to fight this battle. I just want to know any ideas/suggestions you have for your kids. Please give me some feedback!

I am having the same battle. I will be watching these comments with great interest. I don't have any answers either.
YES. Battle all the time. I use to do NO screen days. Meaning they could not do anything that involved a screen.. that includes the gameboy. Now I let them do it because I am lazy and rather than fight with them I encourage them to do it so they wont bother me.. JUST KIDDING. I have just given up. Hey another fun thing I did and my kids LOVED it was have pioneer day. NO make up, no tv. We did candles at night and read books, cooked out side and I made them bring water in the house with buckets to do dishes. they loved it!! it was a lot of fun.
My kids are to old they would not think that was fun now. TEENAGERS SUCK!
I have the same battles. I find one thing to do is play games with them. We have better bedtime routines when we have had game night.
I don't know, but if a day goes by in our house without an episode of "YoGabaGaba" (Worth watching if you haven't!) we know something is wrong.
