A lifesaving tip

So I have not been doing a lot of blogging lately. I have been going to do a nice holiday piece, but that just seems like too much work right now. I am organizing...music, pictures, etc. But occasionally I like to post some information that might help someone out. I posted once what to do if your dog consumes a lethal amount of chocolate. I'd like to think my tip today might be more important.

Anyway, I learned some lifesaving information on the Today Show this morning, that could save your life if you ever (heaven forbid) happen to be in this situation. I am really being serious here. It is about what you should do if your car is ever plunging into a body of water. You are supposed to roll down your window WHILE your car is being submerged and hang onto the windowsill. You are supposed to do this because most people are so panic stricken and disoriented by the time they are fully submerged that they can't/don't have the ability to get themselves out of the car. If you have the window already down and are hanging onto the windowsill, you know how to get out. They also mentioned that most automatic windows do work under water. Anyway, just some more information to store in your memory for those "what if" situations.

The only information I really remember about those "what if" situations is that if you are ever in a hostage situation you are NEVER supposed to let them take you to a second location. Also the good old "lay down and play dead" if you are ever being attacked by a bear. I'm sure these are all easier said than done, but something to think about!

So this is kinda funny because we talked about "tips" last night. A friend of mine was told by her sons karate teacher if someone is kidnapping you to lay down just drop and go like a noodle and scream like crazy. Said that it is terribly hard for someone to pick DEAD weight off the ground. He said that if you are kicking and screaming and staying on your feet you are actually helping them get you into their car. I found that interesting...
