The Unofficial End of Summer

It was hard to see it arrive.....Labor Day, the "unofficial end of summer." Is it true that all good things come to an end? I don't think so....I had a great weekend in Bear Lake hanging out with friends and going to the Bear Lake Parade of Homes. Impressive! It was a lot better than the Logan one I went to this year, I will say that! One house had some slides in it and when the 4 of us "big" girls went down it, we were laughing so hysterically when we came out that we were crying! It just seemed to spit you out at the end and you came out in a heap. We took the kids back to it later and I don't think they had nearly as much fun on it as we did!

The kids are back in school and it's been a good thing for them. I feel lucky that my kids like school and want to do well. Kaitlyn is adjusting to a much larger school, and was surprised at how crowded it is and how many kids there are!! Landon is also doing really well for a 6th grader. I was worried about his organizational skills...but he has stepped up to the plate rather well. Jaxon is liking Kindergarten, although he doesn't have a whole lot to say about it. What does he like best about it? The bus. Yippee. Scary! I know what goes on on the bus. But if I know Jaxon he's probably egging on everyone on it. He probably wanders back and forth on it constantly. He loves the fact that there's no seat belts or carseats. He had a lot of questions as to why there aren't seatbelts on it?? How do you answer that? And when he asks why the driver has a seatbelt and not the kids?? How do you answer that??? What is the answer?? Heck if I know!!

I've always wondered the same thing as to why a school bus doesn't have seat belts. I'm sure a lot of parents get the same question as to why they have to wear a seat belt in a car- and not on the bus.

I can totally picture Jaxon walking back and forth on the bus, back pack and all- egging everyone on. He's such a stud.

I have always wondered that seat belt thing too! Whenever I've gone on a field trip with the kids and had to ride the bus, I'm a wreck, the kids are hanging out the windows and it is so loud! (but my kids don't ride the bus to school to elem, so it is a party!)
:)
Good luck to all your kids in school (don't you like how quite the house is...I do for just a minute everyday)

Me too...Me too...why aren't there seatbelts???? Good thing about our schools here is that the high school kids aren't on the bus with the kindergarteners. I don't like how the times are so separated with when kids go to school, but the separation of big kids and little kids is a great advantage I think.
