My New BFF's

I know you are expecting to see a picture of a human here...or at least an animal. But NO....my new BFF's are my DoTERRA essential oils. Five years ago I would have laughed (or secretly thought you were a wack-o) at someone who approached me about using essential oils. I figured people who used stuff like that were a little off their rocker. I would have said, "No....I'm good at popping a pill for every ache and pain". Or heaven forbid...if my child has a cough I'll just load them up on cough medicine (the good stuff...with narcotics in it) when they have a cough but aren't sick enough to stay home.(seriously???) Just hand me the pills...and the chemicals...and I'm good. That's how I'll take care of my family.

Over the last few years I've really started to look around at the pills...the chemicals...and think, "there's got to be another way." Don't get me wrong...there definately is a place for doctors and pills, but there is another way. My perspective also really started to change over a year ago when I read the book "Master Your Metabolism" by Jillian Michaels. Fabulous read. I'm a huge fan of hers, and when it comes to health, I worship her. But in this book she really lays it all out about chemicals, preservatives, pills, heart disease, obesity, hormones, etc. Now, I know I am not the epitome of health, but I have made a lot of changes over the past year and am going to continue making them. So when a friend approached me about using the 100% natural oils, I was all ears.
Now, for a headache, I reach for my peppermint. A drop on your temples and it does wonders!!
To ease a cough/cold I rub a drop of Breathe on my kids chest!! One of my favorites!!
Instead of reaching for the Pepto, I pour a drop of DigestZen in water and it has cured many upset stomachs!!Deep Blue works wonderfully on my elbow for my tendonitis, and any other sore spots
Ever wondered how many chemicals you are spraying on your kids as you're covering them with bug spray???? With TerraShield you can make your own bug spray, and it's 10 TIMES STRONGER THAN DEET!!! NO CHEMICALS!!Ever have one of those days when you feel like you are going to kill EVERYBODY??? Serenity is great for helping calm down your emotions. And is really awesome for any anxiety related issues you may be having.Kaitlyn has been using Meleleuca in her shampoo to clear up her scalp issues she's been having. And I have been told by a lot of moms that a drop of Basil on a q-tip cures ear infections wonderfully. now....drum roll.....for my personal favorite. On Guard. Can't say how much I love this stuff. Put it on to protect your kids from the germ infested mosh pit...aka "SCHOOL" to protect them from sickness. On Guard also has lozenges, wipes, and is awesome!! I can't say how much I love these oils. These are just a few of the things I have used them for, and being relatively new to them, I can't wait to keep learning and using more. I'm going to start phasing out my skin care line I've used for 12 years (love you Arbonne) and start using DoTERRA, because I have so much faith in their products. I have no doubt I will be completely satisfied!! LOVE THEM!!!

Justin's family is obsessed with essential oils. One of his sisters is a foot zoner (if you know what that is) She uses oils for everything. I don't think her kids have once had tylenol or anything like that. I really believe that those oils really work and that they can solve many problems. Another good read is called "Skinny Bitch" (pardon my french) by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. It talks a lot about chemicals in foods, how foods are prepared, and what not. But, beware- if you read it you WILL make a change in what you eat. Definitely opens your eyes at what you put into your body. Movies that are good eye openers too: Biggie Size me, and Food Inc. I've totally changed my diet, by reading that book and seeing those movies. Good for you for making that positive change! It's so easy to just grab those pills- but you should be aware of what you put into your body! Wow. I must have had a lot to say!

Thanks for the info. I keep hearing about these! I'm really interested in the Breath for the sickies this winter. I'll have to find out more about them.
I miss you, we need to get together for lunch or something sometime!

I've sure liked the ones I've tried too. Good stuff! I don't know all the uses of them, I didn't know the ear infection one. Definently have to remember that one.
