BOA- Bands of America competition held every year in St. George at the end of October. When Kaitlyn asked me if she could try out for Color Guard, I thought, "sure", and in my head I'm assuming she will perform a couple times at a football game. I really had no idea what marching bands did, how much work it is to be in one, or how much they perform. NO IDEA!!! (or did I mention how expensive it is)
Anyway, she absolutely loved it. She had so much fun. I learned a lot and I found myself wishing I had been in something like this in high school. My school didn't even have a marching band. So at the end of October the band got invited to the BOA competition and we went down to watch it.
It was super fun and really exciting. After performing on Friday, and Saturday morning, the bands get to see who has made it to the "Finals" performance, which is Saturday night. Our band made it and ended up taking 7th place. Great job Sky View!! It was so much fun being a part of this!!
We got to do some playing in between performances, which of course included a game of mini golf. It was 70 something that day, the weather couldn't have been better!!
Landon of course loves posing for pictures:)
The band as they are starting their performance. Go SkyView!
