My Baby

Maybe by the title of this post you're thinking you've missed something, huh?? My baby?? What must you be thinking??? Well, I have always loved riding a bike.  I have always wanted to get into cycling.  I see people biking all over, and it made me want to do it.  The bike I owned was a 16 year old mountain bike.  Well, I asked for a new one, and Jay got it for me!! Hooray!!

So, I'm a rookie....I've been cycling for about two months, and my crossfit coach coaxed me into doing a biathlon in Preston.  Well, since I'm not a runner, have not been training for any running races, Shannon, my sister, who is training to do a half, was game to be my teammate in the biathlon.  Now, we went there with no expectations.  In fact, that morning I'm saying to myself, "(I have no business being in a race.  That damn Paul, what has he let me get myself into)".  We figured if we did it in 1:30, we would be happy.  Well, we finished in 1:17....and we won the women's team race!! Hey, you just never know!!! Sometimes all you need is a little coaxing, and you just might win!!  We had a lot of fun, and decided we wanted to do it every year!! You just might see us doing more of them too!!  Hooray for us!!
